TPP's suite of intuitive and cost effective IT solutions support the provision of truly integrated care: increasing efficiencies, driving innovation and improving patient experience.
SystmOne is a pioneering clinical system which fully supports a ground-breaking vision for a 'one patient, one record' model of healthcare. SystmOne allows clinicians to access a single source of information, detailing a patient's contact with the health service across a lifetime.
TPP provides a national-level EMR, connecting all hospitals, clinics, mental health sites and health intuitions. This will create a comprehensive longitudinal health record for every citizen in the country, containing their complete medical history. This includes their diagnoses, symptoms, medication, tests results, allergies, vaccinations and procedures.
The record can be visible to all healthcare professionals, whenever and wherever a patient needs care. It can also be visible to patients themselves, via smartphone apps and online.
Our solution is for a genuine, comprehensive EMR, covering all hospitals and clinics in the country.
TPP is a software company based in the UK that has worked across the NHS for 22 years. The software, SystmOne, is used in over 7,000 NHS organisations including Primary Care, Mental Health services, Acute Hospitals and all the prisons in England. The system is used by over 250,000 NHS staff members, with over 50 million patient records stored on TPP's database.
TPP's patient app, Airmid, which allows patients to access their records, book appointments and conduct video consultations. Airmid can also be used to track symptoms over time and to flow that information back into the citizen's medical record. Over recent years, TPP has expanded and now has live services in China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the British Virgin Islands.
TPP was founded in 1997 by Frank Hester OBE. Frank had worked in the financial sector as a software architect for several years before starting the company. He wanted to remove the administrative burden from his wife, a family doctor, so that she could focus on delivering care for her patients. That principle has remained central to TPP's mission: to create software that makes life easier for the people who look after us when we need them. Since then, the company has grown, hiring the brightest and best people in the UK. Our coders and analysts are hired from the world's best universities, with degrees in mathematics, physics, engineering, and computer science. All our staff have that rare quality of dedication and passion for the company's mission. We meet with and talk to our users directly, with no middle man in the way, to ensure that what we deliver solves the problems that they are actually facing. We remain fast and agile by minimising bureaucracy and management hierarchy and focusing on a culture of identifying problems and coming up with solutions. Our developers understand the importance of technology to the healthcare industry and are on hand day and night to resolve any problems that come up. We don't have shareholders, so we are not controlled by profit, which means we can go the extra mile to make sure what we are doing is right. This philosophy has given TPP many world-firsts, from inventing the technology underpinning shared care to data-driven AI for early cancer diagnosis.
TPP's suite of intuitive and cost effective IT solutions support the provision of truly integrated care: increasing efficiencies, driving innovation and improving patient experience. This is an exciting time in healthcare globally. We believe in the vision of connecting care. This is a vision we have helped deliver in the UK and are eager to replicate this around the world.

TPP provides healthcare software to government and clinical intuitions to manage the healthcare of the citizens. The integrated system ensures that the medical records can be accessed from anywhere, at any time and across in the country.
In response to the Covid-19 situation, TPP provides public health screening questionnaires to the governemt to ensure that any suspected cases were correctly reported. This supports regular screening programmes and enables the clinical intuitions to easily comply with the country''s health legislation.
Case study:
In order for the government of the BVIs to best protect their population against the Covid-19 outbreak, the Ministry of Health and Social Development and the BVI Health Service Authority Board are proud to announce that we are launching a new free app and hotline service for all BVI citizens. This service will allow residents to access free medical advice in regards to the Covid-19 outbreak and for the government to be fully informed about the healthcare situation across our islands.
The new service means that citizens can call our Covid-19 hotline and access information that will help manage the wellbeing of themselves and their families. Equally, citizens can access the new app – Airmid to enter in their symptoms and send that directly to healthcare professionals. This will allow the healthcare authorities to best prepare for the Covid-19 outbreak and help keep people safe in the coming weeks and months.
TPP is supplying the system for the call centre, to enable medical staff to provide advice to their patients and record this into their medical record. They will also be able to contact patients and perform video consultations with those in difficulty through the integration between TPP''s clinical system and their patient app, Airmid. Airmid is available to all citizens of the BVIs and enables them to access their medical records and track their symptoms over time.
TPP is supplying this solution for no charge for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis.
An overview of some of the other solutions that TPP has provided to the NHS free of charge can be found here:

TPP also works with research institutions for big data analysis.
Case Study:
TPP works with the Oxford RCGP RSC initiative to run clinical trials to address the Covid-19 emergency. The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Research and Surveillance Centre (RSC) based at the University of Oxford is one of Europe''s oldest surveillance systems. It spotted the 2009 Swine flu pandemic before the virologists. It is now turning its attention to how general practice might help us mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A letter from TPP, the RCGP and the University of Oxford is being sent to all 2600 practices in England that currently use SystmOne – TPP''s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This letter explains the methodology that will be used.
This partnership will enable clinical trials of selected medicines that might reduce the duration and severity of COVID-19 including hospital admission and mortality. The RCGP RSC initiative will allow GPs using TPP SystmOne to recruit patients into the trials and then access information entered via participants using the Airmid app.
Patients who are eligible will be recruited by clinics using TPP''s clinical trials toolkit. This means that when an individual arrives at a hospital or clinic, the doctor will be alerted that the patient fits the trial criteria. Following this consultation, participants can enter in symptoms, data from wearable devices and current medication to monitor their progress.
By combining patient collected data, combined with the medical record, the researchers at Oxford will be able to determine the efficacy of certain medicines.
