Detailed solution introduction
A Verdigris system has three facets: hardware, data analytics platform/ software, and data analytics using artificial intelligence. They work in concert to gather and digitize energy data, connect the data between users and other devices, and provide valuable insights through machine-learning algorithms.
Our hardware is a smart energy submeter used to collect, digitize, and transmit electrical consumption data with high fidelity. This approach allows Verdigris to detect and characterize electrical waveforms as distinct equipment signatures. The data transmitter uses WiFi or 4G LTE cellular to transmit data to AWS cloud services.
A Verdigris system is mounted at the electrical panel and consists of sensors and a data transmitter plus data cables and supporting hardware. Figure 1 shows the data transmitter, a proprietary sensor, and a generic interface module, which is used to integrate larger, off-the-shelf sensors.
The Verdigris data platform is a web application that can be accessed through any browser or mobile device. The main user interface provides analytic modules on demand management, energy usage,
power quality, measurement and verification, and an asset portfolio view.
There is also an administrator interface to manage user permissions and passwords. Administrators are able to create and delete user accounts, determine user access to monitored data and configuration of systems. Individual API keys can also be generated in the administration console.
